HORSEMANSHIP, PURPOSE & FUN CLINIC

Calgary Regional Trail Riders Assoc.

In any discipline, you must first master the fundamentals - and this clinic is full of them!

Led by renowned clinician Jonathan Field, this clinic will teach you how to understand the nature of the horse and build clear communication both on the ground and in the saddle, creating a safe, willing, and responsive partner.

You'll then have the chance to put your skills to the test with creative tasks, obstacles, and fun challenges suitable for all experience levels.

 

CLINIC OUTLINE

  • Learn to read your horse's behaviour and understand the psychology of the horse.
  • Build communication using the Primary Equine Language to get good body control.
  • Explore how using a purpose can bring out your horse's athletic ability without force, and build relaxation in movement along the way.
  • Learn how to "stretch the elastic band" with your horse mentally & physically to create a stronger connection.
  • Use creative exercises to help your horse find bend and balance for correct biomechanics and healthy movement.
  • Test your teaching and learn creative ways to check if your horse truly understands your communication.
  • Improve your balance and coordination as a rider and have fun along the way!

DAILY SCHEDULE

Small group format, 6 riders per group.
Riders and auditors are welcome to stay and watch the other group.
